Language: Theme related vocabulary, theme related sentences, use of action verbs, as well as memorizing theme related songs and rhymes. The children will reinvest the learned thematic vocabulary and use the pronoun ‘JE’ with ease.
Graphisme (pre-cursive exploration): Revision of straight, horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines, the circle, half-circle and the point. The children will also explore the spiral and the loop. They will also refine the letters of their given name as well as begin to recognize commonly used classroom words in both capital and cursive letters.
Math:
Geometry : The children will explore simple geometric forms (square, triangle, circle and rectangle). In addition, they will be able to recognize and name numerous colours, including; blue, red, yellow, green, orange, brown, orange, white, pink, purple and grey.
Number: Number recognition and number association up to 8, creating collections up to 8 as well as counting silently when counting up to 8. The children will also become comfortable using the terms ‘more’, ‘less’ and ‘the same’.
Problem solving: Sorting objects by a variety of characteristics such as, colour or size as well as comparing objects in small groups.
Science: Revision of changes in nature (seasons) as well as tactile exploration. The senses, learning how to visually characterize an object and simple transformations (such as melting, ripping, cutting) will be examined.
Songs and poems: Le Petit Homme, Le cochon, Si tu aimes le soleil, Au marché

Describe oneself, draw oneself – body vocabulary in French – Measure of heights, comparisons – Writing: letters of one’s name. Library: Reading books about self esteem, ex. I Like Myself - Reading Strategy: Finding as many clues as possible in the pictures in order to better understand a story Music: Celebration music Physical Education: co-operative games, traditional games, locomotion skills.
